Question: How long should a home staging consultation last?
Top Answer (72% of 65 votes): One to two hours.

Answer: One to two hours
Explanation: An occupied home staging consultation is what I call the initial walk-through of the home with the homeowners and typically lasts two hours. Consultations should begin at the curb and continue through all interior rooms as well as the exterior spaces (porch, deck, patio, & yard). I take "before" photographs and follow up with a written report that homeowners can use as their "to-do" list. If they want additional help, they can hire my staging services for a half day or whole day.

Answer: Two to four hours
Explanation: Typically, our staging consultation is between 2 and 3 hours. 2 hours for a home under 2000 sq feet, and 3 hours for a home over 2000 sq feet. During our walk and talk, your stager determines the sellers needs and walks through each room asking the seller to make notes on our staging checklist. We put post it notes on items that need to be packed and removed. We address both inside rooms as well as outdoor spaces.

Answer: One to two hours
Explanation: Clients should expect the staging/design consultation to last one to two hours. Each home is unique and should be staged to showcase the style of the home. During the consultation, the home stager will walk through each space and make recommendations. During an "Occupied Home Staging" Consultation, recommendations can be as simple as rearranging furniture, or as advanced as removing existing furniture and discussing furniture rental options. For "Vacant Home Staging" Consultations, this includes a staging plan to showcase the home to appeal to a wide range of potential buyers. Recommendations for furniture and accessory rental will be discussed.

Capital Staging and Redesign
Answer: Two to four hours
Explanation: The amount of time that a home consultation should last is completely dependent on the size of the home and the amount of work needed. The more work a home needs the longer it will take to communicate that information to the homeowner. The larger the home is the longer it will take to walk through the entire property inside and out. The home stager also needs to keep the conversation focused on what the client should do to make their home more market ready, but build a relationship with the client at the same time. On average though it is usually at least 2 hours and at most 5 hours.
